4.5" Violin Wood Tailpiece Fine Tuners Made in Germany 1 Wittner Gut Vtg Antique
---  Measures 4.5" from front wood edge to tail wood edge (not counting the tuners or end loop).  I don't know what size violin this is from/for.  NOTE small chip in front of the top thumbscrew on the low string (I don't see that it affects anything, I undid the thumbscrew to check the area and it is just on top next to the channel in front of the thumbscrew).  Three of the tuners are marked Germany on the top of the thumbscrew (adjusting "knob"), the high string has a Wittner tuner and looks newer, the other three did not have maker marks on the underside assemblies.  The end loop looks like what I've seen referred to as "gut", it looks like a reddish fiber based string to me but has sort of a waxed look.  The loop is intact but shows wear from the back edge from prior use.  No maker marks on the wood piece, I don't know the type of wood, whether it is ebony or some kind of stained wood.
