  • Condition: I'm calling this used. There are a few scratches and blemishes here and there. The Hastelloy looks discolored or tarnished, maybe from the explosion. The Hastelloy is supposed to be type C276. The disc is non magnetic. Not sure what this can be used for or how hard it will be to rework into something useful. Basically selling for ornamental purposes. This was a custom made disc so no mfg info or packaging. I do not know the exact method of bonding, how long, how much force, what type of explosives, etc. There are a few lines in Sharpie on one side of disc. Not sure what for.

    Description

    Here is a custom made disc, 6-3/8" diameter and app 3/8" thick. It's two outer discs of Hastelloy C276 explosion bonded to one piece of Copper in the middle. Each disc by itself is app 1/8" thick. This weighs app 3.75 pounds. I'm calling this used. There are some scratches and blemishes here and there. The Hastelloy looks discolored or tarnished, maybe from the explosion process. From an old print, the Hastelloy is supposed to be type C276. The explosion process was done by E I Dupont. The disc is non magnetic. Not sure what this can be used for or how hard it will be to rework into something useful. The end user would rework the disc into a small hotplate. But I'm basically selling for ornamental purposes. This was a custom made disc so no mfg info or packaging.
